Our history

KAP started its activities in September, 1954, in a little plant, making the first MR series of electric switch (mirimrutor), being the pioneer in that type of switch (micro-switch) for the industries.
In 1960, moved its installation to a new plant, where it was possible to increase the production, to better serve the highly growing demand. It was also in this year that the electric switch MC series was introduced, the first named as "microrutor", KAP registered trademark and alias of fast action electric switch, or microswitch.
In 1973, the company moved to its current plant, where started the process of modernization of the production lines and introduced several product series, thereby broadening its market share by offering a full range of components for industrial automation. A success story of a 100% Brazilian Company leader in its industry.

“We seek to improve our Quality System to directly reflect on our products and services, providing greater customer satisfaction ". Our products present high quality pattern that complies with international standards like EN, UL, CSA, DIN and others.  Also the company is certified according to NBR ISO 9001:2015  (click here to get a copy of the certificate).

Warranty - We offer a two-year warranty against manufacturing defects as of acquisition of KAP’s products, as long as our recommendations for installation and use are respected, as well as technical assistance for unlimited time.

Warning - Increasingly, the customer needs quick answers to their requests. It was with this in mind that KAP created a rapid customer service system, providing prompt service from the very first request.

Environmental Responsibility

We at KAP recognize the importance of preserving the environment as an important legacy for future generations. We believe that it is possible to carry out technological development while still being environmentally responsible. Based on this premise, the company takes actions and encourages the employees and partners to do the same. Our Environmental Policy has the following principles:

• Use the natural resources in a rational and consistent way.
• Handle the raw materials and waste aiming minimize their environmental impact.
• Make sure that products and processes comply with environmental legislation.
• Promote a culture of environmental protection in its broadest scope.

KAP and RoHS directive

This European legislation prevents the restricting on use of hazardous substances (RoHS - 2011/65/EU) in electric and electronic equipment of civil use such as electrical appliances, computers, toys, telecommunication equipments, lighting, and others.
Since KAP is a manufacturer of electric components, it recognizes the applicability of the RoHS directive on its products and announces that it is already implementing. The dangerous substances that should be restricted are as follows: lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chrome, Polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and Polybrominated Diphenyl Ether (PBDE).

KAP Accomplishments – We have closed the inventory of the materials used in the products and made an assessment of its chemical composition. In some cases we have already implemented substitutions of materials to comply with RoHS. In the specific case of the electrical contacts of our switches, we already offer "Cadmium Free" models that use alternative materials such as Nickel (AgNi) or Tin (AgSnO), for example.

Under consultation we can offer the “Declaration of Conformity” of the product lines that are RoHS compliant.
